The episode, word for word

I'm Neil Greathouse, I've had type 1 since 1992, I coach people living with T1D every day, and if you missed yesterday's walk? Same.

Welcome to Your Best T1D Year, the podcast that's here to make type 1 a little less overwhelming, one small habit at a time.

We're not aiming for perfect blood sugars. We're aiming for less chaos. And yes, this is only 5 minutes. Because if it goes longer, I'll start roasting myself for overexplaining walking.

So today's reminder is simple: Missing a day doesn't mean you failed.

Let me say that again, because T1D has a way of making us feel like we're constantly falling behind: Missing a few days isn't the problem. Quitting is.

This month's challenge isn't about hitting a perfect streak. It's about creating consistency. If you walked two days last week, awesome. If you walked zero, guess what? You can still walk today.

This isn't a streak tracker. It's a growth tracker.

If Nick Miller from New Girl were here, he'd probably say something like:

"You miss 100% of the walks you don't take, Wayne Gretzky, Michael Scott, Nick Miller."

Honestly? Kind of profound.

So instead of starting over, we just... keep going. Diabetes already throws enough at us, we don't need guilt and shame piling on top of that.

Your next walk counts just as much as your first one. And it's never too late to take one step closer.

So here's your invitation today: Don't worry about what you didn't track, just start again. Download your step tracker at [ ](https://yourbestt1dyear.com) or from the link in my Instagram or TikTok bio.

And if you've been walking and tracking? I see you. You might even get a little surprise in the mail, like a free copy of my book or some T1D giveaways I've partnered on.

No contest. No pressure. Just a way to say: "Hey... this matters."

Episodes drop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, short, helpful, and totally fine if you're walking while listening.

Grab the free tracker at [ ](https://yourbestt1dyear.com). And jump back in wherever you are.

You're not alone in this, and you don't have to figure it all out at once. Just one step. One day. Together.

See you in the next one.
